Edward Steichen Art Prints and Posters

Edward Steichen (1878-1973) was an influential photographer as well as a curator at the Museum of Modern Art. There he was behind more than fifty shows, including 'The Family of Man' in 1955, which remains the most popular photography exhibition ever. His own work was featured on the cover of Vogue. His portraits have beautiful composition but evoke the personality of the sitter. The combination of quietly graceful Classical poses with the raw emotion of a living human may be the fruit of his encounters with Rodin, who he met in Paris, and whose sculptures are loved for exactly these qualities.
