James McIntosh Patrick (1907-1998) is regarded as one of the greatest Scottish painters of the 20th century. He was accorded many honours during his long career, including a Guthrie Prize and election as a member of the Royal Scottish Academy. Patrick lovingly portrayed his home region throughout the seasons, often painting 'en plein-air'. His landscape paintings truly come to life, the rural scenes captured with impeccable draughtsmanship.
About us
We started out as a small screenprinter in a Brighton basement. Today we've grown to a factory and design studio in Newhaven. Headed by founder Gyr King, we have a simple ethos to bring inspiring, affordable art to everyone.
It is a lovely painting that evokes a different age and as my wife says, it is a painting you can go for a walk in. There are som any details in it: hills, filedls, hedges, houses, paths etc. The painting was a favourite of my mothers. She had a print, which I stil have but it had gone mouldy etc. It is a joy to have a pristine copy once again! Thank you.
