Brilliant colour and bold line work come together in the expressionist paintings of the artist Carrington to produce works of art that can be regarded as nothing less than explosive. These still lifes, landscapes and colour studies have been described as "Modigliani meets Rauschenberg" for their power and appeal. They synthesize a free and exhilarating use of vivid colour with an eye for detail, yielding a work that captures the "essence of the thing".
When asked to express her philosophy of life, the artist answers with a question of her own: "What would you attempt to do, if you knew you could not fail?" When asked to ponder her own question, Carrington answers without hesitation: "Paint", she says with a grin.
Carrington was born in Rochester, Minnesota. She gained her Bachelors degree in Art from Nebraska Wesleyan University and an AA in Graphic Design.
