John Henry Yeend King art prints and posters

Born on 21 August 1855 in London, Henry King was a genre and landscape painter in oil and water-colour.

For three years he was apprenticed to O'Connors the glass painters of Berners Street, London. He then studied painting under William Bromley, and later in Paris under Bonnat and Cormon. His fine paintings of landscapes and genre subjects were exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1876, and he was also represented in several public collections.

In 1879 he was elected a Member of the Royal Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street, and later in 1886, he was elected a Member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water-colours. Henry King lived in London, where he died on 10 June 1924.
