The Artist

Kate Nessler

Kate Nessler b. St Louis (MI), United States 1950. Kate studied at Kendall School of Design, Michigan and has been a botanical artist for over 26 years, painting a range of plants from her rural studio in Arkansas. She has exhibited widely and won numerous awards, including three Gold Medals from the Royal Horticultural Society, and an Award of Excellence from the American Society of Botanical Artists. Her work is included in permanent collections including the Royal Horticultural Society, The Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, The Morton Arboretum, the Shirley Sherwood Collection and The Brooklyn Botanic Garden Florilegium. Her work is also included in the recently published Transylvania Florilegium under the umbrella of The Prince of Wales’s Foundation Romania.

We started out as a small screenprinter in a Brighton basement. Today we've grown to a factory and design studio in Newhaven. Headed by founder Gyr King, we have a simple ethos to bring inspiring, affordable art to everyone.
