Louis-Aime Japy art prints and posters

A pupil of Corot, Louis-Aime Japy was born in Bern, in 1840. Primarily known as a landscape artist, he travelled to Italy at the beginning of his career both for inspiration and for subject matter, but in general he focused on landscape scenes in France, and particularly in Jura and Doubs.

His work is exhibited in many galleries and museums across France, including Langres, Limoux, Morlaix, Saint Etienne, and Roanne. However, as his reputation grew, his originals were also bought for display in major galleries in Washington, Amsterdam, Budapest and Manchester. Japy died in Paris in 1916.
