Macdonald Gill Art Prints and Posters

MacDonald Gill, younger brother of sculptor Eric Gill, began his career as an architect in 1904. He went on to become a skilled and versatile artist, designer and illustrator. He continued his architectural work, exhibiting designs at the Royal Academy between 1907 and 1923. He also designed interior decoration for the House of Commons, Lincoln Cathedral and Borough Polytechnic, for which he collaborated with Roger Fry. Gill illustrated a number of books including 'Nursery Rhymes of London Town' by Eleanor Farjeon (1915). He was also a designer for the Imperial War Graves Commission after the First World War.
