American painter and printmaker Sam Francis (1923 - 1994) paid particular attention to the composition of his abstract paintings, drawing inspiration from both impressionism and abstract expressionism.
We started out as a small screenprinter in a Brighton basement. Today we've grown to a factory and design studio in Newhaven. Headed by found Gyr King, we have a simple ethos to bring inspiring, affordable art to everyone.
The Sam Francis piece will feature in an array of other works by Sam Francis, including SF-132 (Untitled), "Round Breast of Jane Mansfield," SFS-132 ("Spun for James Kirsch"), and SFS-134 ("Lyre Eight"). I might add that an earlier purchase from King & McGaw added a wonderful Picasso anniversary poster from Mourlot Freres to my companion collection of Picasso posters, serigraphs, and lithographs. In both cases, the pieces were very well packaged for their journey across the "Pond" to my Texas homestead. In fact, I'm tempted to put the wonderful Mourlot folder and contents on display as well. I will doubtless return to King & McGaw again and again for upscale artwork.
