Created in collaboration with the Terry Frost Estate, this limited edition ceramic platter is based on an original linocut made by Frost in 1990. Trewellard Suns, No 4 was inspired by the rising and setting of the sun over the village of Trewellard near the artist’s home in Cornwall.
Expertly made by highly skilled artisans at 1882 Ltd, Stoke-on-Trent, England, this cast earthenware platter features a silk screen decal print which is carefully applied by hand before firing. In addition to a certificate of authenticity, each platter comes presented in a bespoke wooden crate. See more.
Throughout his long career, Howard Hodgkin resisted the label ‘abstract artist’. Instead, he viewed himself as a painter of ‘emotional situations’. Today the late artist is regarded as one of the most important British painters of his generation.
