Akseli Gallen-Kallela (1865-1931), born in Finland, is known as one of the leaders of the Art Nouveau movement. A larger-than-life personality, Gallen-Kallela had a powerful artistic vision expressed by strong lines and flattened, stylised images. His highly individual style brought to his famous paintings of the Finnish national epic, the Kalevala, a dynamic and unnatural intensity.
We started out as a small screenprinter in a Brighton basement. Today we've grown to a factory and design studio in Newhaven. Headed by founder Gyr King, we have a simple ethos to bring inspiring, affordable art to everyone.
I visited the National Gallery recently and just loved this painting. I didn't purchase it in the gift shop due to travelling home on a coach, couldn't face the thought of damage.
I have not seen this artists work before and loved the colours and the lake itself.
When I came I looked for a company that could provide a print. many thanks
