Anne Rea is an illustrator and figurative painter living and working on the Suffolk Coast. Following a foundation at Great Yarmouth College of Art she gained a degree at Canterbury College of Art and started her professional career. For many years Anne combined her painting with more graphic illustration, which included working on a number of award-winning educational films and interactive learning programmes.
Always fascinated by coastlines and estuaries, Anne draws inspiration from the sea - painting boats, yachts and harbours to create beautiful seascapes. She looks for tone and colour that can be simplified in a dramatic way, whether it is the powerful skies and seas of the East Anglia and Devon coasts, or the pure light of the South of France. The resulting artwork is charming in its subject and vibrant in its colour palette.
