Art Print #432846
The importance of a ridiculous pen-name in song-writing cannot be overstated! Horatio Nicholls could not resist the connection with Britain's greatest naval hero Lord Nelson. He was actually Leicester-born music publisher and composer Lawrence Wright, writing under this and many other nom-de-plumes with the more sensible sounding Edgar Leslie. The picture illustrates the story of the song, with classical opera and ballet references - a novelette? How pretentious!
