Silkscreen print by Jackson Pollock #7636

Jackson Pollock

Jackson Pollock
Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) was a leading figure of Abstract Expressionism, best known for his 'Action Paintings'. Pollock dripped and splattered household paint onto large unprimed canvases, creating highly spontaneous and expressive paintings. This radically tactile approach emphasised direct, physical contact with his materials, paving the way for a new era of non-representational art. Pollock is a lasting symbol of American modernism in its finest hour.

Perfect for our very contemporary 3 colour tone living room. We love it! Very good quality frame. Little disappointed that the front of the frame is plastic and not glass. My fault for not checking.

Highly delighted with the print and the general quality of the framing. The only thing preventing me from giving it five stairs is the fact that the metal attachment rings had been fitted the wrong way round and too far down the frame. So I had to turn them around and move them up, in order to hang the print correctly. This error was further confirmed by the fact that all the labels on the rear of the frame had been applied upside-down as well. Of course it is all Jackson Pollock's fault for signing his name at the top left of the painting and not at the bottom right! As it is, I now have two pairs of unsightly holes at the rear of each end of my frame! I mention this really, as something to be aware of the next time you frame a copy of 'Summertime 1948' for someone.
