Design with vases and flowers, circa 1913-19

Omega Workshop

The Omega Workshops sold furniture, fabrics and household accessories designed and made by artists. Founded by Roger Fry in 1913 to deconstruct the division between art and design, the workshop provided Bloomsbury artists with the chance to make a living through design and decoration, alongside their careers as artists. All work produced at Omega was made anonymously, only signed with the Greek letter Omega, as Fry insisted the objects and furniture be valued for their beauty rather than artist's name.
