Art print by Paul Nash #433198

Paul Nash

Paul Nash, born in 1889, was a modernist painter, illustrator and designer. He played a key role in introducing European avant-garde movements such as Surrealism and Abstraction to the 20th-century British art scene. Nash is chiefly known for his iconic scenes of World War II and his emotive landscapes. Working in the tradition of Turner and Blake, Nash explored the mystical character of his surroundings. Inspired by ancient history and myths surrounding the English landscape, the resulting paintings have a surreal, magical quality.
