Based in Newhaven, East Sussex, we have extremely committed retail and museum wholesale teams on site. Design Team Assistant

We are recruiting a Design Team Assistant to support our busy museum sales team. The team develop and produce beautiful, bespoke products to the world's leading museums and galleries including Tate, The National Gallery, V&A and MOMA. Our Design Team is at the heart of creating bespoke product ranges. Our Design Coordinators need an administrative assistant to provide maternity cover support - we are the first point of contact for customers. We manage client briefs, respond to enquiries, receive and process orders and play a key part in managing a busy production schedule. We work closely with most aspects of the business, with no two days being the same.

We are looking for a quick-thinking and motivated individual to support the Design Coordination team with day-to-day administrative duties. Key responsibilities:

  • Processing customer purchase orders
  • Booking in orders with receiving warehouses
  • Responding to customer queries
  • Monitoring orders through production to ensure timely dispatch
  • Assembling and dispatching product samples
  • Populating and maintaining product data sheets
  • Liaising with couriers

    The ideal candidate will be:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Google Drive
  • Thorough and detail-minded approach to tasks
  • Strong organisational skills, with ability to manage one’s own workload
  • Comfortable working under pressure and able to adapt priorities to meet tight deadlines
  • Have a keen eye for detail and design

Full time position (Monday-Friday) based at our office in Newhaven. Fixed term contract of 12 months.

Artworker

King & McGaw is one of the UK’s leading fine art publishers, operating both a retail website and working closely with museums and galleries creating bespoke products for trade. Based in Newhaven, we design and produce everything on site. We work closely with our museum clients with a continuous emphasis on colour accuracy and product quality. The design studio is at the heart of the process. We are responsible for formatting product layouts, colour matching imagery and keeping our designs new and innovative.

We are recruiting an Artworker to join the Design Team, formatting and colour matching products for our museum clients. We are looking for someone with a working knowledge of InDesign, who is ready to learn and adapt, and can help expand the capacity of our existing team. We manage a high volume of briefs at any one time. The role of an artworker is primarily creating products to set specifications and managing multiple project deadlines. We require someone with creative talent, but also a keen appreciation of process and organisation.

Experience required:

  • Good working knowledge of InDesign and familiarity with other Adobe CC apps
  • Knowledge of image file formats including a good understanding of image resolution and colour management for print and digital
  • Ability to artwork to a specific brief and supplement with design ability
  • Experience of creating layouts for printed products
  • Experience of using templates and adhering to brand guidelines
  • Highly accurate with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
