Born in 1935, Alan Ball has always wanted to become a successful artist.
At a young age he found a talent for drawing and painting. In the coal mining village in England in which he spent his childhood, he managed to exhibit with local art groups and visit art galleries. Thus his art career began to take shape. He studied great works intensively, including Mark Chagall and Paul Klee, whose styles were greatly to influence his own.
Alan Ball trained as an art teacher in England at Durham University. However, in the late 1970's he gave up teaching and acquired his own studio in order to become a full-time professional artist. Since then he has held many exhibitions at galleries across Great Britain and his work is now held by collectors throughout the world.
A true professional of outstanding ability, Alan Ball has developed his own technique of capturing bright sunlight and colours to provide an instant vitality to his works. Alan Ball is also a knowledgeable collector and creator of pottery.
