Composition sans titre I, 1970

Alberto Magnelli (1881-1981) was an Italian abstract painter celebrated for his elliptical, abstract geometric compositions in bright colour. A self taught artist, Magnelli was influenced by Fauvism, Futurism and Cubism, and in his lifetime worked alongside artists like Pablo Picasso, Robert Delaunay, Jean Arp, Wassily Kandinsky and Piet Mondrian.
