Scottish artist Alexander Millar has emerged as one of the UK's most popular artists. Raised in the small mining community of Springside his work focuses on what Millar calls 'old Gadgies'; the drunks, old women and working men he continues to see in his hometown. Millar paints them with a compassion that captures the grace of everyday movement, from stumbling down the street to dismounting a bike. Millar's passion for painting and his local area remains as strong as ever as he continues to paint and exhibit regularly.
We started out as a small screenprinter in a Brighton basement. Today we've grown to a factory and design studio in Newhaven. Headed by found Gyr King, we have a simple ethos to bring inspiring, affordable art to everyone.
Bought as a Christmas gift for my mum who had admired the print in a local restaurant. The print was £35 and the frame was x3 of the price of the print which did seem very expensive. However, the print arrived within the specified time, it was really well packaged, it looks lovely and most importantly my mum is over the moon with it. I would definitely use King & McGaw again and would recommend them to others.
