Arnoldus Bloemers Art Prints

A distinctive and distinguished painter of flowers, fruit and still life, Arnoldus Bloemers was a classical Dutch painter who continued the tradition of eighteenth century flower painting which had been established by Jan van Os.

Born in Amsterdam in 1792, Arnoldus Bloemers studied at the Academy of Amsterdam under Antoine Piera. His rich still-lifes of typically abundant floral bouquets in terracotta vases are characterised by their warm tones, lively and engaging composition and dramatic lighting; which presents a majestic overall effect.

Bloemers died on 11th April 1844 in Amsterdam.
