Archibald Thorburn (1860 -1935) was born near Edinburgh. He is one of the greatest painters of birdlife of all time, and it was perhaps from his father, a miniaturist, that he acquired the ability to create his minutely detailed studies. Thorburn's work is so invigorating to the viewer because he was one of the first British wildlife artists to paint and sketch from nature directly. Thorburn's artistic talent and scientific observation are obvious in these refreshingly vital images of nature. Our sublime Thorburn prints are the perfect choice for anyone who loves the great outdoors.
