Born In Edinburgh, Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell was the most outgoing of the Scottish Colourists. He studied in Paris and had a watercolour accepted when he was only sixteen. His studies of grand interiors and elegant women brought him the most fame, and he was elected to the Royal Scottish Academy in 1936, just one year before he died.
