Born in 1760 in Edo (modern day Tokyo) to a family of artisans, Hokusai began painting at the age of six. Despite constant challenges in his career Hokusai endowed the world with some of the most arresting evocative and historically crucial depictions of landscape and nature. Works include his famous woodcuts of Mount Fuji and The Great Wave of Kanagawa. French impressionist Monet took great inspiration from Hokusai, adorning his Giverny home with the renowned artist's prints. Our collection includes his best-loved works.
We started out as a small screenprinter in a Brighton basement. Today we've grown to a factory and design studio in Newhaven. Headed by founder Gyr King, we have a simple ethos to bring inspiring, affordable art to everyone.
This was the second picture we ordered from King & McGaw, and the first canvas. Again, the quality and is excellent, and the service quick and efficient. We will be ordering more artwork soon.
Almost perfect rendition of the final outcome of the print, very reliable and speedy service.
Purchased several items in the past and never had any surprises.
I would highly recomend this to any prospective customer.
