Print Room Operator

We're looking for an experienced digital print Operative with wide format inkjet experience to operate our digital printers and finishing equipment, ensuring jobs are produced to plan and the agreed quality standards.  This role calls for a high level of attention to detail and an ability to plan your workload effectively. The ability to balance competing demands and a willingness to do what it takes to meet deadlines are both essential. You will be a great communicator with the professional acumen to liaise with your colleagues and external contractors alike. You will give the same degree of care and attention to the deadlines that are set, the machinery you use and the quality of product being produced.


  • Effectively operate our digital printers, finishing and other equipment on which you have been trained and are competent
  • Prioritise and schedule jobs to ensure achievement of customer deadlines and advising the Print Room Team Leader if agreed deadlines are in jeopardy
  • Ensure that machines are maintained to agreed standards and that regular checks are performed as instructed
  • Report equipment problems to the Print Room Team Leader or in his absence, the Operations Manager
  • Liaise with the Production Scheduler regarding current and forthcoming orders
  • Ensure print jobs are produced to plan and agreed quality standards
  • Liaise with internal depts. regarding problems with file quality or print results, which you are unable to resolve
  • Complete agreed reporting of production output and quality problems as required
  • Manage stocks of consumables (e.g. inks, paper) and flag for re-order when stock reaches agreed re-order point
  • Ensure print-room is maintained in a clean and tidy manner at all times
  • Ensure all rubbish is removed to the appropriate bins at least on a daily basis
  • Carry out of ad hoc duties as instructed
  • Actively seek opportunities for personal development and to increase knowledge of relevant processes

  • Computer literate (Photoshop experience highly desirable)
  • Previous relevant digital printing experience

42.5 hours a week based at our warehouses in Newhaven, East Sussex

Salary is dependent on experience
