We supply most major and numerous independent retailers with art product and have exclusive direct relationships with major classic artists such as Picasso as well as hundreds of young and aspiring artists. We are working hard to get more people to explore and buy beautiful art. There are many artists that need discovering, walls that need decorating and trends that need creating. We have the network, contacts and manufacturing platform in place and now need people to help us develop it and realise its full potential.
Our technology and marketing team are based in Clerkenwell, London and our workshop, customer service and administration is based in Sussex on the South Coast.
This is a fantastic role for a student or recent graduate looking to gain marketing experience within an art and retail environment. You will be working with the Marketing team at King & McGaw, the UK’s largest online art retailer, to help organise its November pop up exhibition.
The ‘The Art of the Selfie’ pop up, will take place from 3rd-14th November 2015 in the tunnels of Old Street station, it will be an interactive space exploring the history of self-portraiture in the age of the selfie. The event will also include a national competition - the Art of the Self, encouraging aspiring young artists to reclaim self-portraits as an artform.
Your role will be to support the marketing team in the run up and duration of to the pop up exhibition. From guestlist management, organising the opening night catering, through to social media activity - Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter. You will then be supporting the Head of Marketing during the exhibition, helping organise and facilitate the workshops and talks, monitoring social media activity, coordinating press loans etc.
4-6 week internship
2-5 days Monday to Friday, 10-6pm at King & McGaw’s Clerkenwell office
Alternating 8:00-14:00 and 15:00-21:00 at Old Street Station
