Michael Sole creates impressive abstract paintings, inspired by the great outdoors. Sole places himself in the environments he paints for weeks at a time. Armed with a fishing rod and a tent, he walks for miles and miles collecting his thoughts. These translate to canvas back at his studio. "Nature is fascinating to me, especially in extreme circumstances such as storms. Energy must meet with energy in painting. Big seas and powerful subject matters deserve energetic, physical and confident painting."
