‘The inspiration for this piece came from a very large, open space. It’s quite reflective, as I looked for a space that had very specific lighting qualities. Because I knew that the end product was going to be very different from my usual works on paper, it was really important to me that the light source within the composition emitted from the drawing to replicate how the lightbox practically works.’ – Jemma Appleby
