Elephants in art are portrayed as being symbolic of wisdom, dignity, strength and power. Known as a sacred animal in the East especially in Thailand and India, elephants are the largest living land animal. In children's books, elephants are cast as models of exemplary behaviour. The most famous iconic imagery of elephants include Dumbo, Babar and the honey-eating Heffalumps from Winnie the Pooh. Illustrated prints of these gentle giants will make a great addition to nurseries and children's rooms.
