The Morning Glory, and it did look glorious in my garden in Vancouver Canada. The title of this 1999 oil painting reveals another side of this plant however. People who have had this plant enter their garden will know why its so named! Its beauty is contrasted by its tendency to totally take over if left unchecked. There is little however that can compete in the garden with its radiance and magnificence, especially when caught by the early morning light, and it is this that I wanted to capture in the painting.
